Llanddwyn Island
Llanddwyn Island lies near to the southern entrance to the Menai Straits. It is not quiet and island, as it is attached to the mainland at all but the highest tides. It is part of the Newborough Warren National Nature Reserve. The name Llanddwyn means the church of St Dwynwen-she is the Welsh equivalent of St Valentine. Twr Mawr is modeled on the windmills of Anglesey and was built in 1845.
