Tryfan and the Ogwen Valley
| << | ![]() Looking towards Tryfan, one of the most recognisable summits in Snowdonia. It is a beautiful mountain having a classic pointed shape, with rugged crags, and is the lowest of the Welsh 3000 foot mountains. The three stone buttresses that can be seen have given Tryfan its name - the Trident. It is one of the most challenging summits in Snowdonia and is where the first successful expedition to Everest trained in the early 1950's.
