Stag Rocks

The rocks are located at Bamburgh. The history of the stag is not fully known but there are two theories, one that it was painted after a stag was chased there and killed,or a highland regiment who were stationed there during the war painted it.
The stag is also one of the heraldic symbols associated with St.Aidan, the first bishop of Lindisfarne since the stag symbolises solitude, piety and prayer
