Huisinis
Huisinish (Scottish Gaelic Huisinis) is a remote place on the west coast of Harris. It lies at the end of a 12 mile long single track road. Nearby, and to the north, lies the uninhabited island of Scarp.
The rocks in the foreground are amongst the oldest known in the world – including Lewisian Gneiss. Gneiss is an extremely high grade metamorphic rock and some is ‘granite gneiss’ almost an igneous rock with both types around three billion years old.
