The picturesque hump-backed bridge at Ivelet was built c1695 and is just wide enough to allow one car to cross the River Swale approximately a mile and half west of Gunnerside.
On the north side of the bridge, set into the verge, is a coffin stone where pall bearers rested with the coffin on their journey from Muker down to the church at Grinton.
